Julie has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Design with an emphasis on Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington School of Architecture and Planning. In addition, Julie has a graduate certificate in Real Estate from the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington.
Julie has worked in real estate development, both for profit and non profit, since 1992. She has developed small lot subdivisions and small lot urban infill projects as well as low income and starter housing.
Julie has been a community activist in her neighborhood for many years spearheading park improvements and traffic safety efforts as well as producing a popular summer concert series.
Julie and her husband are just finishing up construction of their home which they designed to be “sustainable” on many levels including: “mommy sustainable”, extended family sustainable”, “social life sustainable”, and of course energy efficient, healthy material choices, passive solar and natural cooling, and on and on and on.
